Ramada Suites By Wyndham Albany

After an initial rocky start with noisy neighbours, the hotel reception shifted me to a different floor. The old room and the new room were identical. Both of them were great and quite clean maybe 9/10. The bed was comfortable, also clean and medium firmness, which I liked. Shower pressure in both rooms were good. Generally, I think this is a good place to stay if you need to be on Auckland's North Shore. Interactions with reception and housekeeping were always pleasant. There were very, very minor issues like the kettle flap was broken, the dryer ran extremely loudly. I was a little embarrassed to use the dryer at night due to the noise. The towels were thin and could be thicker.

What an unexpected blessing it was to stay at this hotel! Sunny at reception was key in setting a positive impression when I first arrived. In spite of being early to check-in, he made me feel welcome to the point of sharing a home-baked cookie from a package of home baked cookies he received while speaking with me. What a kind and thoughtful person! One of his reception colleagues was equally service minded! My one bedroom room had everything I needed including washer and dryer (along with laundry detergent). Dishwasher was convenient as well. Major highway is practically unheard from hotel room facing the highway. The hotel is a four minute walk from a major bus interchange - 30 minute bus ride to Auckland CBD. Major shopping centre (Westfield) is a 10 minute walk. Lots of places to eat. Thanks Sunny and team for a wonderful three night stay! Great NZ memory!

Easy access from SH1. The studio apt had its own washer and dryer. The room was clean. It was a busy, fall weekend and we were able to book this hotel without a problem. Every other hotel had no vacancy. The hotel reception staff were helpful. The hallways had a strong, perfumed odor, and the carpets were dirty. The location is nondescript, nothing much in the area. I used the hotel wifi, and almost immediately, I started getting notifications that there were several (unsuccessful) attempts to login to my Microsoft account, which leads me to believe that there is a unscrupulous lot frequenting the hotel. There was also low level noise from either the room next door or the street that was constant and woke me at 1AM.
