Our stay at Ramatra Fort was truly an unforgettable experience. The property beautifully blends heritage charm with modern luxury. One of the highlights was the open-air jacuzzi located at the top corner of the fort — offering stunning views and a serene ambiance. The entire property felt like a step back into royal times, yet with all the comfort and elegance you'd expect from a high-end stay. The food was delicious, the service was warm, and every detail reflected thoughtful hospitality. If you're looking for a peaceful yet regal getaway, Ramatra Fort Stay is a hidden gem worth exploring.
This is a charming place off the beaten track. The owners have done a fabulous job of restoring & rebuilding the old fort. On a hill top it commands a fabulous view of the surrounding area & villages. Being in the buffer zone of Ranthambore there is a variety of wild life to be seen. Freshly cooked farm to table food , al fresco dinners , a jacuzzi in a turret under the blue sky and wonderful hosts Ravi & Gitanjali. Would highly recommend it.
This is really a special place to stay when you are in Rajasthan. It is well off the beaten track, about 4 hours from Jaipur or 5 hours from Agra, but it makes the perfect stopover if you are doing Jaipur to Agra or vice versa! The fort itself is very impressive and has amazing views over Kalisil Lake from high on the hill. The activities that are on offer are great - we saw lots of animals on night time safari with Udit! He is very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. The village walk in Ramathra is a must-do - to meet some of the local people and to understand their way of life is a humbling experience, but you'll also feel the warmth of their hospitality - lots of smiles & laughter, and plenty offers of food from pakoras to chapatis to buffalo milk sweets. The food is really delicious too at lunch time and evening, but I do think a small number of additional options for breakfast would be welcome! Important to note that the electricity did cut out a number of times, but the hotel warns you about this and it only takes a few minutes for the generator to kick in. They do give you a torch. The a/c works well in the rooms. Two things that would be great improvements to bring it to a 5 star review: - Fridge in the room. There is no ice due to tap water issues, and while some of the drinks are in the fridge at the bar, it would be great to be able to cool down water in the room! - More information on itinerary and how things work. It's quite difficult to know what will happen next - what's involved in the village walk or the boat trip for example. We were surprised to find that we were walking (with a hotel employee) to the edge of the lake for example before the sunset trip - it's about a 30 min walk. No problem if we knew that beforehand, but it was difficult to get information. You have to go with the flow here! Overall, if you want to experience real India in a beautiful setting - book this place!!
