Real Marina Hotel & Spa

Returned home yesterday after staying in a Marina view room (445) for 2wks.. The hotel had everything we could wish for, but would say it's 4.5*, as the room carpet was worn nr balcony doors,also the loose cord @ the bottom of the curtains was trip hazard,but the room was very spacious,lots storage, tho the wardrobe doors need looking at( as you can only access clothes from one side!), Also the toilet continually dripped & the handle in the bath was coming away,but,again really spacious & great showers. 10/10 to the lovely smiley housekeepers who kept the room immaculate (thankyou), towels changed daily (if req),lovely bedding.Thankyou for the free daily supply of water (we needed it due to heatwave!) & coffee pods. Unfortunately, the aircon didn't work for a few days but was supplied with a great fan which was def needed! The pool area again was SO clean. Informed all exercise classes were 12€ EACH by two Spa staff handing out leaflets as we were going into breakfast (which was excellent& great choice), even the Aqua classes (these have previously been included when saying in hotels), but on our second week notices were put up stating some classes were free- inc Aqua classes????? Staff were VERY helpful (special mention to Anna who sometimes worked in the restaurant, always bright &😍) We spoke to a few people who were repeat visitors to this hotel,as we will be, as we LOVED it, especially the Marina view, we never tired of seeing it, & surrounded by great bars & restaurants ( try the French one 'Chez Henriette' turn right out of hotel, it's on the corner 2mins walk away,owned by a lovely🥰, friendly French family, the food is wonderful😋 13€ =2 courses!!! which is changed daily) . Across the road @ Ria Marina there is a little shop (you can't miss it has Superman statue outside!) sells good priced bottled water,wines,beers etc, really pleassnt staff. I could go on & on as Olhau as won our hearts 💕

We had a lovely holiday here and will be returning! Things we thought were great: - hotel location, easy walk to restaurants, marina and ferry to the beaches, short transfer from Faro airport, quiet area, no loud music or bars so great sleep! - swimming pool was ok size and well looked after, plenty of beds, quiet (we like not having music all the time) and lovely view! - aqua Zumba! Bingo! - staff were excellent! All really friendly and helpful! - allergy labelling at breakfast was good, gluten free bread and muffins were available every morning on request. Fresh orange juice was amazing! Things to improve: - our room was a bit small especially with the child’s bed in it. - sunshade over the children’s pool would be great. - children’s playground to be repaired and open. Just back from a great holiday in beautiful Olhao. Hotel staff were excellent & very helpful throughout our stay. Only used the hotel restaurant for breakfast but this was first class. Everything you could ask for & very fresh. The pastel de natas were delicious. It wasn't obvious that you could have omelette made up for you in the kitchen but no surprise as the staff were so accommodating. Bedroom & bathroom very spacious & due to hotel design balcony was very private. We were on 4th floor & Wi-Fi occasionally dropped off. Complimentary water & coffee in room but you would need to pay if you wanted more. Hotel is maybe beginning to show some signs of aging & will be due a refurb but experience still felt 5 star.
