My recent stay at the Red Ginger Chic Resort in Ao Nang, Krabi, was truly exceptional, easily ranking it among the best accommodations I've experienced. The resort boasts fantastic facilities catering to every need, from the secluded tranquility of private pool areas to the vibrant energy of the swimming pool with its convenient swim-up bar and a dedicated kids' pool. The enticing happy hour with discounted drinks added to the enjoyable atmosphere. Beyond the pools, the resort offers engaging amenities like a snooker table near the main bar and a welcoming lobby. The thrice-weekly live music in the evenings created a delightful ambiance. Our booked duplex family room was a highlight – incredibly spacious, impeccably clean, and exceptionally comfortable. The large balcony with a seating area provided a perfect spot to relax. I particularly appreciated the resort's commitment to sustainability, evident in their provision of glass water bottles instead of plastic and their thoughtful approach to toiletries, offering them only upon request. The breakfast spread was also commendable, offering a good variety to start the day. For ultimate relaxation, the in-house spa provided truly amazing services. Overall, our experience at the Red Ginger Chic Resort was incredibly comfortable and created lasting, positive memories. I highly recommend this resort for a memorable and eco-conscious stay in Ao Nang
This is a 4 star hotel for Thailand. The staff is 5 star always kind and helpful. There is a small bar downstairs which has a happy hour, a nice pool that has an earlier happy hour and really good for kids and adults. To put it in perspective we paid for 1 week what we would pay for 1 night in Paris or possibly less! It’s located on an ok road but within a 3 min walk you are on the “strip” so to speak. If you make a right at the end of the road, you walk down to the night market and a much newer section of the beach town and is really nice. Good coffee shops, good restaurants and great walk along the beach. Owl coffee is amazing! If you make a left out of the road, you’re in the older section (in my opinion) but again, it is also full of all kinds of restaurants, pubs, massage parlors and shopping. Along with a nice walk along the beach so you can go either way. It just takes a minute or two walking to get there but be sure to check out both directions. Umberto’s is great Italian if you are missing home and there is a ton of Thai and Indian cuisine. As for the rooms, well they are big, constantly cleaned but could use a bit of a makeover in my opinion.
Overall, the experience was good, but it was a real shame that the pool was under maintenance. It would’ve made a big difference during the hot days, as Krabi is extremely warm. One thing I didn’t love was that the construction work started very early in the morning. I understand they have work to do, but since people are on holiday, it would be more considerate to start after breakfast, for example. We also had a situation that left us a bit disappointed. When we arrived at the airport, we realized we were missing a pouch with important documents. We called the hotel to see if they could help, but they said they couldn’t do anything because it had been left in the spa. It’s a shame they didn’t go check, as that would have saved us a two-hour trip back through heavy traffic — and unfortunately, because of that, we ended up missing our flight and had to pay for a new one. We understand it wasn’t their responsibility, but a small effort to check would’ve made a big difference. We had our passports with us, but the pouch had other important documents from our home country, and a bit of help would’ve meant a lot. That said, the staff were friendly and approachable, and the breakfast was honestly the best we had in Thailand — really complete. The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance to almost everything, from the night market to beautiful beaches. I’d definitely recommend staying here — especially once the pool is back in service.
