We absolutely loved everything about this place. The staff are just amazing, they looked after us so well. Everything is sourced locally, which not only benefits the guests but also the local economy and is worth every penny. The food and the service is second to none.
We initially booked a nights stay at the Lion. However, on receiving such an amazing welcome and the relaxed atmosphere we decided to stay an additional night. The staff could not be more accommodating or do enough for you. The room was absolutely beautiful and the food, restaurant and bar was out of this world. I think it's the most relaxed I have ever been on a stay. Cannot recommend this place and the beautiful village highly enough. Even the locals are friendly and happy to help or answer any questions. We will definitely be booking a return visit. Thank you all once again Sam
The area is stunning of course! After a long walk down, managed to get there without going over on my ankle - what a win. Picture perfect harbour and a lovely little pub/hotel. Grabbing some food to refuel - unfortunately feels like a trap - completely overpriced and underdelivering in quality. The sad thing is the staff seemed friendly, there was a general nice atmosphere ... then the food came. £20 for a lobster roll - it seemed out of a jar and the chicken burger I didn't even finish. The menu has lots of seafood and someone naive (like myself) thought this will be a pub that takes their position at the harbour seriously and uses it as a unique selling point with the food - disappointing to say the least. Don't be naive or get caught in the dream of the picture perfect area that the Red Lion seems to rely on to paper over the hideous prices and quality of their food. It wasn't the food that refuelled us for the hike back to the top - rather a shock of disappointment and indignation that give us the energy to get out of there. Never again.
