3nights here on business. First night standard dining, service wasn’t particularly quick but the food was very good. We then had more of our team arrive and had a hot buffet set out each evening. Quality and presentation of the food was excellent. The hotel is “quirky” with lots of sets of stairs and annexes but this just adds to the character. Robe and slippers in room for comfort, good supply of coffee and hot chocolate! Gym is well equipped and maintained.

8th - 11th May. Lovely hotel in stunning grounds. We stayed in the original part of the manor house and it didn’t disappoint. Yes, it’s not perfect, (creaky floorboards, old windows), but that adds to the charm. It’s rustic and that’s the kind of thing we like. The room was a Deluxe spa room with a 4 poster bed. Beautiful views overlooking the front lawns. Spa bath in the bathroom and robes and slippers. We ate at the hotel for 3 nights, and the food and breakfasts were perfect. Good selections of wines, reasonably priced. There were, unfortunately, a few issues during our stay, the sauna, jacuzzi and steam room were all out of action. The hot water in our room was temperamental and this morning (11/5/25) there was not water to the hotel. All those things were a little disappointing, but these things happen. Would we stay again, in a heartbeat. I would definitely choose the house rooms over the standard rooms. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, but a special mention to Abbie on reception. Nothing is too much trouble for her, extremely pleasant, always smiling and an asset to the hotel!

The hotel is great, we got a nice room. But unfortunately the restaurant wasn’t good. We went to celebrate Valentines Day and first of all it took over an out for our main meal to arrive, when it finally did my husband stake was well done and he ordered medium rare. Second time they brought a steak within a minute and it was absolutely raw meat! The third time it was still not what my husband ordered but he had half of it but we didn’t pay because it was horrendous! Our first night we went to the bar and we ordered fish and chips and it took over an hour to bring to our table as well. So apart from the food service, the rest was good.
