Very friendly staff, a nice and cosy room, good breakfast and lots of parking. We had a great stay in Ede!

I stayed here for 7 nights, without breakfast. There are both good things and bad things that I have experienced. Room: The hotel is old but it is clean. We found out that two of the room lights were broken on our first night. The male receptionist was really friendly and send us an electric technician to repair it as soon as I tell them. Price: I booked the hotel through Expedia and paid my room fee. I was required to pay taxes and city tax during I checked in. Location: The location is good. It is 10 minutes to the big station and 13 minutes walk to supermarket (Jumbo or Lidl). The only unpleasant experience was I were required to pay during my checkout. I was asked to pay the city taxes, again. I explained that I have paid on my check in. Immediately she explain this is for breakfast. I was confused and the female receptionist refused to explain much and show me the bill. Luckily I know some Dutch, “Ontbijt buffet” was written there, 39€ for 2 pax. But we did not have any breakfast during our stay. I checked on my Expedia and clearly I did not book for any breakfast option. I make myself clear to the receptionist and her attitude is mean and unpleasant. In the end, she teared off the bill without apologizing and said “it’s okay”. ??? and proceeding speaking in Dutch with her colleagues. Well, lesson learned. Always learn some basic language when you traveled to a new country.
