Refugio del cañon

A lovely campsite with very friendly and helpful owners. Toilet and other facilities good and clean. Very close to the Canyon entrance either by bike or walking on dedicated path. You can also within 20min walk to small village and castle with a couple of other restaurants. Great routes for mountain biking or walking off road directly from the campsite.

The location is great. Walking possibilities from the campsite into the fantastic cañon. Pitches are nicely in the forests. Shame that toilets aren’t cleaned daily and that rubish bins aren’t emptied daily. It would be nice to have some more things to buy in the reception. We were by bike and shops are too far away. We were disapponted that swimming pool wasn’t opened. The campsite could be much better if staff pays more attention to cleaning and paya more attention to guests.

Terrible and expensive campsite with stamp size pitches in gorgeous surroundings. Typical Spanish campsite. The pitches are so over used that grass no longer grows and have become dust patches covered with cigarette butts. Not recommended to pitch a tent. Tents and vehicles are pitched at arm length, so if your snoring neighbor doesn't keep you awake, the next door neighbor will. On the plus side; plenty of trees provide shade. And the canyon is wonderful. Our neighbor started preparing his chuletillas at 23:30, following a unique Spanish preparation method with an on site grill next to our tent followed by microwave cooking. Sanitation basic. And for unknown reasons (other then cleaning) 2/3 sanitation blocks were closed at 22:00. Reasonable swimming pool with supervision. BBQ pits available. Bread available in small super market. Restaurant on site and in the vicinity. Tip: for pick nick or BBQ in gorgeous surroundings drive 500m further into the canyon.
