Reid's Palace A Belmond Hotel Madeira

Can't say about the rooms, had afternoon tea here. Anyway, as stated, my wife & I had afternoon tea here as a joint birthday treat from my sister. Well, beautiful hotel in a stunning location. We were shown to our table & shown on the menu the selection of sandwiches, pastries etc we would be having. There were too many sandwiches to go through each one, but they were all delicious. Then the scones & cakes, again delightful, all very tasty. Plus, we were offered more if the need took, yes, we did, but only a couple, rude not to. We were given unlimited pots of our respective teas during the eating. Then, to top it off, we had a cocktail each, which again was lovely, all topping the afternoon off brilliantly. So if in mind a little treat, can't go wrong at Reids Hotel, Funchal. Oh, staff were amazing, very polite & attentive.

Our family had a fantastic time at Reid’s. The service great. The connecting room for our family worked out perfect and the location worked out well. Make sure to ask about the sunrise private tour - head up before breakfast time. You won’t regret it. Amazing.

We only went here for drinks on the balcony. The view is gorgeous and the staff were attentive. My only complaint was that the staff inside the hotel - when finding bathrooms and when walking inside - seemed a to look down on us for not being hotel guests. But the waiters themselves were lovely!
