Reindeer Lake Resort

We had an amazing time at the farm for meeting the reindeers, no staying in the hotel. A friendly welcoming where we could spontaneously add some more activities than just feeding the reindeer. Definitely no mass tourism and small groups. They always keep an eye on the reindeers and do not force them to do things for tourists. We learned a lot and saw that their job is their passion. Feeding and going inside the fences to come close to the reindeer was great. We had lots of time watching but do not disturbing the animals. Also grilling sausages, having hot drinks and sweets by the fire spot are a really nice idea. Thank you, highly recommended Nina

Had a great experience from the short farm visit to Puolukkamaan Pirtit. The host was very kind and welcoming. We enjoyed learning about the beautiful animals in her care.

What an amazing experience. We booked a Reindeer Safari for Chrisrmas Day. It started with being met and greeted by our guide who went through some important information about how to behave around the Reindeer. We then climbed into the sleighs and went for a 20-30min walk throught the woods. When we got back we were allowed to feed the Reindeer and we then went to the paddock with the females and baby Reindeer where the guide told us about being a reindeer herder in Finland and she was happy to answer any questions we had. We then went and spent time learnijg how to throw a rope and catch a "wooden" Reindeer. We then were taken inside to an area with a lit fire where we cooked sausages over the fire, had hot chocolate, biscuits and sweet buns. Finally we visited the small gift shop. Over all an amazing experience, the guide was so informative and we all enjoyed ourselves.
