Relais Borgo Di Toiano Hotel

A lovely retreat in a peaceful, beautiful location. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The breakfast is very nice and sitting on the terrace every morning with a coffee and croissant was 👌 The pool are has a lovely view and we loved the evening aperitif and appetisers. Everything was great value for money and the service was excellent. We stayed in both the junior suite and the triple room, and they were both nice, basic bathroom, could use some renovation however everything was clean and all that we needed. I recommend the suite as it has easy access to the pool and a nice lounge area/garden in front which was really sweet in the evening with a glass of wine 🍷

I really like this hotel but it has flaws. First the good parts. Staff is superb. Friendly. Quick to help out. Pool is clean and big. 10 rooms makes the place quite tranquil during daytime when everyone is out on trips. Good nights sleep in remote area. No traffic. No sound. The not so good parts. 15 minutes from Siena but it feels like being in the middle of nowhere. Nothing is around. No walkable paths no place to take a long walk. Just olive fields. No restaurants no cafes nothing. You need a car. Pool is like a normal Tuscan pool, cold compared to the Spanish ones we are used with. Rooms are really dated. Dark and worn out. Taps are dripping , shower is not so good. Everything feels worn out. Breakfast is really not up to par. No hot food at all. Just bread and yogurt. This hotel needs a big overhaul and renovation and maybe a reinvention to decide what it wants to be.
