This place gave us a lot of mixed feelings! We stayed there for 5 nights for €1180. The location is nice, close to Vatican, restaurants and shops. The room itself was okay, small but it’s normal for Rome. What we didn’t like and why I would not recommend this place: - before booking I asked about three things: breakfast, a high chair for our daughter and a kettle in the room. The breakfast was indeed as described but it was highly processed foods, cereal, sweet biscuits, white toast, jam, Nutella, croissants and coffee, probably not something worth paying for since you can buy a great panino and a coffee in the city for €5. No high chair was provided in the end although we heard every day that it will be provided. The kettle was not in the room but in the common area/ kitchen, which was not what we were told (we needed a kettle to prepare milk for our daughter at night). Also, it’s not a place where you would like to stay with your kid as there are a lot of unsafe objects, steps in the room and the lift in the building is too small for a stroller. - the bathroom requires renovation, the shower was almost falling off the wall, the silicone between the tiles was black from mould, the paint was peeling off - the vibe - the kitchen looks like in a hostel, to enter the building you need an electronic pass which was frustrating because it didn’t always work, there are weird notes for guests that if you take something from the kitchen cabinets you will have to pay a penalty or it’s not allowed to take glasses to your rooms, very strange rules that you wouldn’t expect in a hotel - lack of room cleaning on the last day which was very strange - lack of breakfast on the last day - the manager / owner arrived past breakfast time and told us that Henry (the employee) is not feeling well so no breakfast today and we can get a voucher for a coffee and a croissant in a cafe nearby. We were in a rush to get to the central station so this was annoying. - the owner said that he will give us a better price if we book directly with him (instead of booking.com), after the check-out he promised multiple times to send a receipt. I had to message him multiple times and was told that we need to pay additionally €80 for taxes if we want a receipt! In the end we did get the receipt but it took 2 weeks and was very frustrating. This was our third time in Rome and probably 50th in Italy but it was the first time when we were so disappointed with the accommodation. I’m giving this place 2 stars only because of Henry (employee) who was super friendly and kind and made sure that the rooms were super clean.
Wow. Awful. Don't go here if over 40 and not in perfect health. Stairs are horrible. No one on duty. They charged an extra charge at check-in for 2 people when it was booked that way. Bathrooms are impossible so small and have no shelves. No breakfast and no one to ask. ABSOLUTELY NO VIEW OF THE TIGRE RIVER. They turn off air conditioning when they freshen the room, so u come back to an oven. THERE ARE MANY HOTELS, nearby that we had wished we looked at.
Disgusting room (stains on the pillows, duvet, armchairs, tablecloths), water leak in the bathroom, dishonest owner: we strongly advise against renting this room. We are used to traveling and this is by far the worst place we have ever slept.
