Probably the rudest front of staff member I've ever met in a hotel. The gentleman on the desk ignored us several times despite us talking to him point blank. Instead choosing to fill up water bottles and clean the bar. When asking basic questions such as when we could check in or what the WiFi code, he acted as if we were begging for money and slowing him down. The room was basic but decent. The pool was great for a group of friends to relax and sunbathe by, the inflatables a bonus. The food at the restaurant was decent but not cheap, and the breakfast was basic but fine. While staying for a couple of nights for a wedding it was perfectly functional, but the rudeness of that one staff member really soured the experience and cost a couple of stars in my opinion.
This hotel is in the heart of the small town Siorac-En-Périgord. It is a building that looks good from the outside but in the inside it’s a different story. As we all say. Don’t just a book by its cover. Pros: - Receptionists were quite nice to my surprise after I saw all of those other reviews. Although they took care of me after a long amount of time. - Elevator was nice, functioned well and looked decent. The rooms though were something else. - Bed was decent and not that hard. - Breakfast was your average toast, butter, orange juice, croissants, coffee, cereal and a few other things. - Pool was actually surprisingly good and had a roof for the winter. Pool accessories came with the pool. *OVERALL Not a lot to get crazy about but average things for a hotel.* Cons: This is where the problems start. - My room was out of reach of the “Free-WiFi”. I watch a lot and I mean a lot of videos on YouTube and so this was a struggle for me. Although this was no problem outside of my room, in the lounge area. - Bed sheets were not very clean as I came across a few hairs in the bed (I came across them before I slept). Pillows were to soft and almost felt as if there wasn’t any. - Floor was quite dirty and you should put socks on the whole time. I didn’t as I was lazy. - Bathroom was VERY disappointing! Bathrooms are made for handicapped people. Yes all the standard rooms are like this. Shower was weird and had no doors so the water went EVERYWHERE!!! Toilet plunger was broken. *OVERALL The hotel was average except for some MAJOR annoyances and flaws.* Ratings: Comfort: 2.8 / 5 Cleanliness: 1.2 / 5 Breakfast: 3.5 / 5 Activities: 3 / 5 Service: 2.5 / 5 Overall Rating: 2,16 Rounded to 2! 2 star hotel. PS: Breakfast area smelled like sweat.
From the outside this hotel appears to be a quaint and attractive looking property on a nice street. However, the so called “hospitality” that you receive staying at the hotel was unfortunately non existent. The key issue, alongside a slightly dirty look and feel & a very mean breakfast (do not recommend), is the manager/owner of the hotel. His whole approach to “the customer” is wrong and misguided. We were not made to feel welcome during our stay. One specific examples of this were when we arrived we had a few hours to kill prior to check-in and before our event started. We politely asked the manger/owner if we could use the hotel common areas such as the pool (which was clearly empty) and use a room to get changed in before the wedding (which was later than day). We were met by the response “4pm!, 4pm!, 4pm!” every time we attempted to suggest things we could do (incl. paying to use the pool) and an increasingly angry tone suggesting we needed to leave until then as the hotel was full (which become clear it was very much not during our stay). Not welcome we went into the town and on our return, 10 mins earlier than the designated check in time, we were asked to wait outside the hotel. Do not recommend sadly.
