Having just returned from a weeks family holiday to this stunning resort, I can only say it was the most perfect family trip we’ve had. The complex itself, picturesque. Day and night it’s a lovely view all round and especially the Masseria. Staff went above and beyond and took to our two children with delight, ensuring they always said hello to them and ensured they were properly adored in the true Italian way! An absolute gem of a find, we cannot wait to return and make more memories here. Big shout out to Salvatoire’ the Matrie’d, as well as the staff at reception and the restaurant who were always on hand and couldn’t do enough for us. We had just gone in the off season, which we knew about and it was perfect as it was much quieter all round the pool, much to our delight some days being only us! Shame we missed some night entertainment and more buzz around, but with 2 under 2, it was quite a nice contrast to be able to be at a much less hectic pace than at home! Absolutely fantastic stay and amazing people, thank you for the best holiday for us.
Pros: • Overall cleanliness of the hotel is very good • Beautiful surroundings • Great weather and climate in Puglia • Shuttle to nearby private beach • Crystal clear water at the beach Cons: • A few blunt and arrogant staff • Very little to do, has so much potential for more • Dinner options are limited especially for kids • Bar lacks any sort of atmosphere • Not your usual all-inclusive - plating your food • If you want to explore a car is needed I stayed at this hotel with my partner from 14/06/2025 - 28/06/2025. I had previously visited Italy twice using Airbnb but this was my partner's first time so I hoped this hotel would have been a great represenation of a fabulous country. For an All-Inclusive, there is a very limited amount of food especially for kids. I have visited the likes of Greece, Turkey, Egypt etc and all hotels would always have a section for kids food but at this hotel this doesn't exist. Furthermore, the hotel only has a maximum of 10 hot meal options which even for a smaller sized hotel isn't adequate. Considering this is a 4 star hotel in a country known for its cuisine, food would probably only be a 6/10. Not being able to plate your own food also became very frustrating as the chefs would plate one of each food unless you asked for more (one night I asked for cauliflower and the chef only put 3 florets on my plate LOL). As a Polish Brit, I also noticed that 90% of the hotel guests were Italians or Germans which would be fine but the looks we would get and service we received from certain staff was disgusting. Germans would be loud with their kids as if they own the place but that really didn't come as a surprise. No respect for others at the hotel at all. Overall this hotel has so much potential to be an amazing stay. The Fitness Centre is essentially a hut with a few dumbbells and broken machinery, the food needs a massive glowup and the entertainment is lacklustre considering the space they have to use. Would I stay here again? If I got a deal for 50% off then yes as it was very quiet so relaxation wasn't a problem, but I would definitely spend a little more in order to have a more memorable holiday.
Visited week of October 6. My husband and I have traveled to various places around the world and this hotel was sub-par. The only reason we stayed here is because this is where his work put him up. I have no idea what kind of people are putting reviews on this site about how great it is to stay here but they are so wrong. It is a hotel in the middle of nowhere and I mean nowhere. You cannot get around anywhere without a car. No shuttle buses to take you anywhere. A taxi cost for 4 of us 75 Euros each way (highway robbery). Thank goodness I met some friends and we split it evenly so it wasn't as expensive. The food was mediocre- expected better for Italy. No coffee in dining hall during dinner hours -have to go to cafe outside. No iron in the room - the staff can iron for you but charge $3 for a shirt to be ironed. The gym was outside in some make-shift room! I couldn't even work out as it was too hot. Hotel staff tried to be helpful but seemed almost fake nice. Also seemed to lie about taxi prices-first they said 57 Euros each way to Lecce then it was 75 Euros. A friend was also told one price for airport trip and then it changed to another price. Oh and if you forget any toiletries, well you are out of luck -there is no general store there. A few positives: Breakfast was included (but mediocre food), pool was beautiful and they have a spa. They charge you separately for a massage and then if you want to use the spa room you have to pay for that too -this should be included if you get a massage. Massage prices were fairly reasonable. I know it's off season but If you have guests it would be more friendly if you had some transportation and activities available for your guests. Would never stay here again.
