My boyfriend and I had a truly great experience dealing with Guglielmo (the owner) at Villarena. He was very passionate about sharing his recommendations and history of the local area with us and provided us with routes for some amazing hikes! I would highly recommend the wine and food tasting which showcases the local produce and history of the area. His passion for quality food and the Nerano really shon through. Looking forward to hopefully returning at some stage in the near future.
This is a low-key elegant b&b with an on-demand restaurant included. At a few steps from Nerano main square, with a swimming pool, a garden, an orchard, a wine tasting room, complimentary parking, this place offers a calm and peaceful oasis a stone throw away from the hustle-bustle of Sorrento or Positano —and without the hiked-up prices. Guglielmo provides a tailored service and offers his wine & food expertise, but also privacy. The room was traditionally furnished and came with a kitchen, AC, a washer, and especially a window with a view on the stunning Nerano bay. Hiking trails to Baia di Ieranto and the regional park are next door, and a 10’ (downhill) walk will take you to the beach, where we recommend hiring a zodiac to explore the surrounding coves in blue waters. Guglielmo will make your experience unique, an authentic Neapolitan holiday. The place is best enjoyed for a few days stay, letting Guglielmo customize your meals (though you can also use it as a base to visit 2 Michelin-starred restaurants strangely located in this unassuming but charming village). We’ll go back asap!
In the far reaches of southern Italy, where the rugged cliffs of the Amalfi Coast cascade dramatically into the turquoise embrace of the Tyrrhenian Sea, lies a hidden gem; a quaint village called Nerano. It is here, nestled among lemon groves and the whispers of sea breezes, that one finds a place of rare and exquisite beauty: a villa, timeless in its elegance, and unmistakably, gloriously Italian. This is no ordinary accommodation. No, this is a sanctuary of authenticity, where terracotta tiles warm underfoot, and shutters open to reveal vistas that have inspired poets and painters for generations. The apartment, a symphony of local charm and understated sophistication, is a living testament to la dolce vita. Here, one does not simply stay… one belongs. But what truly elevates this experience into the realm of the extraordinary is the villa’s owner; a host of uncommon warmth, generosity, and grace. With a presence as reassuring as the lapping tide below, they guide you not as a guest, but as a welcome friend, eager to ensure your journey is as smooth and rich as a glass of local limoncello. To stay here is to step briefly into a slower, more soulful world. It is to awaken to the sound of distant waves, to dine beneath wisteria-draped trellises, and to feel, for a fleeting moment, that all is right in the world. This is not merely accommodation; it is an immersion into the beating heart of Italy herself. And oh, what a heart it is.
