I’ve stayed at Hotel Relais Saint-Sulpice twice now, first in May 2024, then again in March 2025, and honestly, it felt like coming home. I’m not even the type to leave reviews, but I had to this time. From the moment I walked back in, Emmanuel at the concierge desk recognized me instantly. He remembered my name, where I was from, and had everything ready before I even asked. I’m American, and he had adapter outlets ready for me without me saying a word. He speaks perfect English and has an incredible memory, and we’re great with my children. He made the entire experience personal and easy. The hotel even provided a playpen for my infant daughter, which meant a lot. The rooms are huge, way bigger than you’d expect from a boutique hotel in the heart of Paris. Spotlessly clean, peaceful, and quiet. I didn’t hear a single sound during my stay. It was truly a sanctuary. The neighborhood around Saint-Sulpice is beautiful and quiet, just tucked away enough to feel private but close to everything. I genuinely miss it there. And when I return to Paris for the third time, I won’t even bother looking anywhere else. This is the place. Always. If it is your first time and Paris and you are sketchy about where to stay, trust me.. look no further, you will not be disappointed !
Great hotel and location. Hotel is old but rooms are clean and service is fantastic. The front desk folks are very helpful and they made our stay very pleasant. Kudos to Emmanuel, Gina ( Jinane) and Mirko. Location is very close to restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. We walk everywhere. My son and I feel safe staying here.
I arrived late at night. the hotel staff greeted me in good English and I felt welcome. they gave me WiFi info and breakfast details without me needing to ask. I walked towards the lift. hotel had quirky and cute retro garden themed decor and a copy of the new York Times and le figaro news papers near the lift. however hotel smelled a bit musty/mildewy. WiFi was good and fast i went to my room. my room had a small toilet room, a bathroom and a bedroom. you can see the decor in my pics. quirky, cute but dated, wallpaper peeling off the walls and strange fabric tassels glued to the top of the wall , covered in dust. there was a lot of dust and mildew smell so I recommend if you have asthma or allergy to bring medicine and open a window. walking through my room, first there is a large wardrobe containing sealed packs of slippers and hangars and a money safe with key code lock. next going in the toilet room. the toilet had not been cleaned and there was visible large brown dump in there but it was easily flushed away. there was a hole in the ceiling which dripped water on me when using the toilet, possibly waste water from the toilet above . gross. opposite the toilet room was the bathroom with bathtub , sink, mirror, folding magnifying mirror, hairdryer, shaver socket, lots of high quality l'occitane toiletries, lots of soft clean white towels and a towel warmer. lighting was bright and good for doing makeup. bathroom was very nice but again the bathtub was unclean with weird black thread and bits of metal in it. but it was easily rinsed away. hairdryer was excellent and worked well. the lobby area between the bathroom and bedroom had a luxury jacquard chair which was very comfortable. it also had controls for your room air conditioning which was EXCELLENT. you could adjust the room temperature from 15°C- 30°C and within a couple of minutes the room temperature would change. it was brilliant. in the bedroom, there was a table and two chairs with a modern electric kettle, a very good selection of tea (rooibos, earl grey, breakfast tea), milks, sugar and wooden stirrer. there was also the remote for a large TV on the wall. unfortunately again the remote and kettle were covered in a layer of dust so I was not sure about the cleaning. artwork and decor was quirky , retro and library themed but dated. cute animal themed lamps, book wallpaper . bed was clean and comfortable. plug sockets worked well and there were 5 of them including next to the bed. rooms had telephone to call reception. also notable is the long hours for check in and out - 2pm check in and 12 noon check out which is perfect for business and international tourists. restaurant on site with long breakfast hours 7am to 11am or they will bring to your room hotel has a modern lift serving all floors Windows to the hotel had amazing views. my bedroom viewed the entrance and roof of St sulpice church, and in the corridor the windows overlooked a beautiful ivy covered central courtyard. Location was excellent , right opposite to St sulpice church, and walking distance to carrefour supermarket and Luxembourg train station, bus stops, pantheon, etc. I would look elsewhere first before staying again, because the hotel room was not clean or not well maintained. no one wants a pipe dripping on your head in the toilet or leftover dust and dookie. if they refurbed the hotel and did proper cleaning then it would be much better. if no where else was free I would come back but I would be careful of cleanliness and maintenance . it's a shame because staff were nice and hotel was beautiful and a brilliant location. if they replaced the cleaning staff. And did a refurb it would be perfect. super cosy too
