Relais sul Mare

Don't let the old bad reviews scare you. I read the reviews here the night before our trip and almost canceled (luckily due to the 24 hours cancelation policy I was already out of time to do so) and looked for another accommodation based on the reviews here, but from what I was told by a cab driver during the pandemic area the hotel changed ownership and was renovated, so most of the bad reviews date back to the previous ownership and the old interior of the hotel... Just spent 4 nights there in March 2025 and it was a very pleasant stay. The location is superb, the interior design is nice. It is a small boutique hotel with only 7 or 8 rooms, so the breakfast buffet and the "restaurant area" is small, but the selection is good you have sweet and salty options as well. The staff were very attentive, though not all them spoke English. Cleaning was done very properly each day. The only thing I disliked was the small and SLOW elevator (one or two persons max - without luggage), but it's a boutique hotel, we did not have to line up for it once during our stay (though it was not peak season), so it did not cause any issues... The view to Mount Vesuvius from the junior suit was deffinitely worth the price!

Breathtaking views, welcoming and professional staff who all went out of their way to make it a very special stay. Highly recommended!

Arriving after a really heavy journey we could only enter our room after 15.30 u (because the people before us had a late check out) despite the normal check in time is 15.00 u. We had to wait. The woman was rude and when we asked her in the meanwhile for the keys and more information she started to be sarcastic and telling us that the room has a bed and shower. Obviously! The room is nothing special, the side sea view is not worth the price. Location is good. Breakfast is not bad. There are many better hotels for the same price and a better view and service in the same street.
