An excellent hotel in a newer district of a rapidly growing town. 24-hour fitness center, indoor pool, excellent service. Only complaint is the somewhat high central air conditioning temperature, which means that we couldn't get the temperature of our room below the mid-70s; this is common in Chinese hotels.

We didn’t have positive experience with this hotel traveling to Guiyang. Firstly, we thought the hotel price should include breakfast as when I booked the hotel I was not informed about it. All we thought was that this is a Marriot owned hotel and maybe it’s just like most American hotels that generally provide breakfast service to customers, especially we planed to stay for 10 days. There are neither western nor Chinese restaurants or stalls near the hotel. It was quite inconvenient for us, especially for American kids who are not used to the local food. Secondly, the check in was not smooth if you use a Chinese passport. We’re traveling as a family with both US and Chinese passports. The hotel check in insisted us to provide them the Chinese ID which one of my family member didn’t bring to US when she emigrated to US many years ago. It took a long time to check in and the lady who checked in was not super friendly nor helpful. Thirdly, the hotel was not strict enough about rules like no smoking in the hallways or outside the elevator. We decided to switch to a different hotel after staying at the hotel for a few days. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel if you’re a foreigner looking for a place to stay when you travel to Guiyang.
