On our cuti-cuti Malaysia trips, we dropped by JB, and decided to stay in this hotel in order to use some gift cards we received. As Marriott Bonvoy member, booking on their website was intuitive and price was quite similar to other booking apps. Indoor parking was easy, plenty and wide enough for my large SUV. Nash and Imran at the front desk were helpful and made the check in experience pleasant as they explained process for using the gift cards clearly. Room was spacious, well organized, comfortable and AC was strong! We took opportunity to use the gym that was open 24 hr. Equipment were dated but maintained well, clean and plenty to go round. Pleasantly surprised there was a pasar malam right beside the hotel – apparently only on Sundays, so we got lucky to also check out the plentiful Permas night market! While walking there, we saw many convenience stores, kopitiams and restaurants within short walking distance so we will never be short on options. Checking out was done by Thashna, who diligently assisted us to utilize only what we spent and left the remaining value on my Marriott gift cards for future use. Nice! Overall an enjoyable stay experience. Minor gripe was the presence of some small ants in the room rollicking around the coffee making area. We gave the feedback to the manager on duty to step up pest control.

We recently enjoyed an unforgettable weekend stay at the Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel, and I can’t speak highly enough of the outstanding hospitality we received. From the moment we arrived, Ms. Amy, the Loyalty Manager, and her wonderful team went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. They took the time to thoughtfully plan our stay, ensuring that my family and I felt welcomed, cared for, and truly special. Every interaction reflected genuine warmth and professionalism, from the seamless check-in experience to the small personal touches waiting in our room. It’s clear that Ms. Amy leads by example, creating a culture where guests are treated not just as customers but as valued friends. The hotel itself is a little old, but well kept. But it was the exceptional service that made our stay stand out. We’re already looking forward to returning!

I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The location is great with easy access to nearby food options, all within walking distance. The room was spacious and comfortable, and I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere on Level 12, where I stayed. However, the air conditioning in the room was not cold enough, even after making an official complaint, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a good stay, and I would consider coming back for the convenience and comfort.
