I didn’t stay overnight at the Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel, but I booked parking through a third-party app while flying out of Newark for a long weekend. Overall, the experience was smooth and the staff left a great impression. I arrived around 4 AM on a Saturday. The parking lot was well-lit, and I found a spot quickly. Although I missed the first shuttle, the next one arrived in under 30 minutes—right on time. One important heads-up: the third-party app did not mention that you need to check in at the front desk to register your vehicle. I only learned this after returning from my trip—when my car battery had died and I went inside for help. Had I not needed assistance, I would have attempted to leave using the QR code provided by the app, which wouldn’t have worked. That likely would’ve resulted in having to pay for parking a second time and trying to dispute the original payment, with little chance of success. Fortunately, the front desk staff was extremely helpful. A team member came out with a portable jump starter and got my car running again. It was such a relief after a long day of travel, and I was truly grateful for their willingness to assist—especially since I wasn’t even an overnight guest. While I can’t speak to the rooms or accommodations, the professionalism and kindness of the staff speak volumes about the quality of service here. I’d absolutely consider staying at this hotel in the future.

The rooms themselves are a little dated and the bathroom was very small even for being a junior suite. Carpet was also coming up in multiple areas especially around the television area. The location and service at this hotel was fantastic and I would stay again as the bed was very comfortable and it's convenient to the airport. What does recommends some room updating.

Nothing in this hotel works properly. Air conditioning is so terrible we genuinely thought it was broken. Maintenance came up to take a look at it just to say ‘that’s just how it is’ which is kinda crazy for how much they charge you can’t even control your own room temperature. I felt so sick inside the room because of the heat I considered moving hotels but there weren’t many available nearby. The parking scanner also works terribly, we were at a standstill waiting for it to scan at night. The key sensor in the elevator also barely works, which is amazing because you can’t go anywhere at all until it does! Guess what else didn’t work? The ice machine. I called the front desk to ask if there was another one I could use and was told ‘I don’t know which ones are working, you’ll have to come to the lobby’ again, crazy. I’ve worked in hotels for years and could never fathom telling a guess ‘I don’t know’ about anything. Your job is to know what’s going on in your hotel. Pot holes in the parking lot so deep it was like riding a roller coaster, parking spots are TINY. be aware if you have a larger vehicle. Overall this is the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. From when I entered the lobby and wasn’t greeted with a smile, barely even eye contact by reception. At check out I dealt with Kimberly and she was lovely. NOTHING ELSE WAS LOVELY. I’d sleep outside before I slept here again. Oh and the towel racks are barely balancing on the walls, it fell off every single time w picked up a towel. If you’re going to charge what they charge, put some money back in to the property it’s clearly falling apart.
