Renaissance Shanghai Hongqiao

Great Hotel with plenty of rooms, all of them perfectly cleaned, free water bottles, towels refreshed every day, nice Japanese style water fully automatic, great consierge and many facilities. Room service is perfect, restaurant superb, specially for european style food, breackfast is outstanding. Hotel position is great if you want to use trains or metro but it is far away from city center, 30 min by metro and 1 or 2 changes to reach People's Square.

I stayed at this hotel last week, I have stayed at many 5 star hotels, but this is the almost worst hotel. Everything in this hotel is very old. The facilities in the room are very old, the bath towels are very old and yellow, and the sheets and quilts also smell. The carpet in the hallway looks very dirty, and the guy at the front desk is very cold when he checks out. In short, I do not recommend this hotel, and will not come again!

This was certainly the worst stay I have ever had at a Marriott Bonvoy property. After a long flight & checked into the hotel, I found out that the property did not have air conditioning (AC)! After I reached out to the Front Office, I was informed that this hotel does not turn on the main switch for AC in mid-April, even when outdoor temp was in the 60s°F. Please avoid this hotel at all costs.
