Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park

First time to stay in this hotel, really expecting something good but ended up disappointing. When I checked in the room key card says “evenings at Renaissance, experience the unexpected”, I really look forward to the unexpected, and the unexpected turns out to be filthy dirty water from shower and water shut down! Check the videos, this is really disgusting. Worst thing is that there is no compensation or apology. I was brushing my teeth and felt something strange taste in my mouth and found out water is like this dirty! Also, the room is so small. The picture looks so much bigger. But the real room is so much smaller. Also, the remote says there is HBO, but the TV doesnt have it. Lies lies lies. So next time, I would rather try the two Hyatt hotels across the street. Pros: Firstly the location is perfect, direct subway to two airports and two main train stations, downstairs is a huge shopping mall with ten floors with everything and the subway station, loved this! Then the view is great.

Good location with almost no services at all. As titanium member, I have stayed at different Marriott around the world but this time really have bad experience. Club room have breakfast however only has limited items compared with other Marriott in Shanghai, this one you better pay for regular service. Room, no coffee no tea bag, even I have asked front desk but still has no response on that. Air condition, the one in the bed room has noise to make me cannot sleep.

I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, and overall, the experience was disappointing. The first room I was given was on the 40th floor, but the air was filled with a strong cigarette smoke smell, which was extremely unpleasant. I asked to change rooms and was moved to the 48th floor. While the smoke issue was gone, the room still had major problems. The air conditioning was very weak, and even though the hotel provided a movable fan, it didn’t help—the room remained hot and stuffy. The room itself was clearly old and worn out. The mattress was deformed and uncomfortable, and the toilet door couldn’t be locked, which was inconvenient. Even the fitness center had poor air conditioning, making it difficult to exercise comfortably. That said, the service staff were excellent. The front desk, housekeeping, and the team responsible for luggage and receiving packages were all very polite, helpful, and professional. Their great attitude was the highlight of an otherwise disappointing stay.
