We stayed here last week and it was brutally hot in OKC that weekend. Unfortunately, the A/C in the hotel was also not working properly. This was not disclosed to us when we first checked into the hotel, but when we walked into our room it felt about 80 degrees even with the thermostat set to 60! Eventually we were moved to a new room, but when we initially called down the desk clerk said the issue would be fixed in the next few minutes. It was not and continued overnight. We were only offered free breakfast the next morning and water bottles, no discounts on the room. The location is convenient and staff was pretty helpful. The bed was comfortable and suite layout was nice. Due to the air issue, the room felt a bit musty. I think renovations are definitely needed.
Not a very well maintained property. Upon entering the hotel, the smell of water damaged drywall and wood permeates the air. Smells old and dingy. It’s very aged and doesn’t appear to have been updated in a very long time. You can see and smell the water damage throughout the hotel. The club on the 9th floor is very substandard. All they have to off you as a club member is bottled water, bags of potato chips and very unhealthy and sugary cereal bars. The restaurant is just an extension of the lobby and is nothing to write home about. The food, though very mediocre at best, is very expensive. I was offered complimentary breakfast daily. It was okay. Same thing everyday. Liquid eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits & gravy, oatmeal and various pastries and fruit. Coffee is not that great. They use a bold roast that is not that good. The people who work there are very nice and professional. I am never staying here again. Substandard amenities. This hotel is in dire need of renovations. Just old and dingy. I always thought The Renaissance Hotel was top notch, elegant and comforting. This Renaissance Hotel falls far short of what it should be.
I want to start this off by saying the staff was super kind and friendly. The landscaping and location look amazing, as did the pictures online. We were really excited as we made our way to our king room. But…. When you walk in your room, notice how solid the floor is. This is also how hard the bed and couch will be. Sleep on the bed or floor….same comfort level. If you do choose the floor, you will have plenty of room since there are no real amenities in the room (aside from the couch that had only slight more give than a cedar bench). Plenty of room for activities. Hopefully you bring some nice cologne with you…to spray in the room to overcome the musty smell There was a nice water feature in the hallway in the lobby. When we commented on it to the staff, they said “oh crap”, grabbed some signs, and took off running. Maybe it was new? The view from the window was really the only nice thing about the room. I mean, I had to wait to write this review until I left the motel…since there was no desk or chair in the room. Overall experience: Old Uncomfortable Smelly Slightly run down Reminded me of my grandpa.
