Renaissance Xi'an Hotel

Very nice hotel, located fairly conveniently. There's an airport shuttle not far from here, a subway station nearby, and some tourist areas within walking distance (30 minutes). Not a lot of shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity compared to other places in China though. The rooms were very nice and modern, not a great view out of the one we were in but the furnishing were all quite new and well maintained. Lounge was very nice and the food was surprisingly good compared to some other lounges in China (very edible). No hiccups with service at all and I thought the price was quite reasonable.

Very nice staff at the front desk. The breakfast buffet and lounge are very nice. However the swimming pool is very poorly managed. It is open to the public with families bringing in kids with floating toys and swimming coaches. You can expect to see 10-20 kids between 3-10 years old learning swimming there and perhaps 10 moms watching. You can forget about lap swimming here. Also, this is the only Marriott hotel that requires you to buy a swimming cap to enter its pool. There is absolutely no reason for this!
