We booked 2 rooms at Dar Elinor, we checked in late around 11pm and after one hour sleep we woke up to a bedbugs infestation, we stayed up all night hanging out in the terrace waiting for the morning to come to leave. We had to trow all our clothes as we did not want to bring that to other hotels or to our home. The owner was very rude and blame previous guests saying it must be them however the bedbugs were all over the bed and the wood frame….there is no way that this is recent and caused by other guests. We managed to get our money back but still traumatized from this experience with my wife and 10 years old kid. I took more videos than pictures and trust me it’s scary !! Run away from this place

Dear all, I am writing this criticism regarding the unethical treatment and unprofessional conduct my wife, our friend, and I experienced at Dar Elinor in Fez, Morocco, on March 22nd 2025. We had reserved a room for one night through Booking.com, a reservation made a week in advance to ensure a smooth and comfortable stay. After enduring a taxing four-hour drive, we arrived at the hotel, anticipating rest and relaxation. Upon arrival, our friend proceeded to the room reserved under our name and confirmed that it was unoccupied. While we were completing the necessary paperwork at the reception, the attendant received a phone call, presumably from the manager. Shortly afterward, we were informed that there was an issue: all rooms were allegedly fully booked. It became evident that the hotel intended to cancel our confirmed reservation, possibly to accommodate another guest willing to pay a higher rate or stay for a longer period. Instead of honoring our booking, we were told we would be relocated to a different hotel. The hotel they proposed was of noticeably lower quality and situated in a less desirable area. When we expressed dissatisfaction and refused this unacceptable solution, the hotel manager, who joined the conversation at that point, behaved in an extremely rude and dismissive manner. His unprofessional attitude only exacerbated our frustration, as he made no effort to address our concerns or provide a fair solution. With no resolution in sight, we had no choice but to seek assistance from Booking.com and eventually secured accommodation at a more suitable hotel. Unfortunately, this entire ordeal consumed approximately three hours of our time, left us even more exhausted, and greatly diminished the enjoyment of our trip. The treatment we received at Dar Elinor was both unethical and highly unprofessional. Such behavior not only violates the trust of guests but also tarnishes the reputation of the hospitality industry in Fez. We urge the relevant authorities and platforms to investigate this matter and take appropriate action to prevent future occurrences of such misconduct.

AVOID! I can’t add more than what other folks have said. We fell prey to their scam. We booked at Riad Taj Fes and when we arrived the woman working told us there was a problem with our room and sent us to Dar Elinor. Loud noises from staff until after midnight, mould smell in the room, unclean beds and bathroom, I wouldn’t swim in the pool if I was on fire, and the breakfast was inedible. Seriously, the owner and staff should be ashamed of themselves. I was with my three year old and pregnant wife and this is how we were treated. I will be reporting this establishment to booking.com and I will not book on their website again until this riad is removed. We left a day early and obviously didn’t get our money back, but it was the price to pay to get out of that hell-hole.
