Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto

Great location. We casually visited many nearby shrines during our morning walks and also attended some early morning prayers without any crowds. The hotel room was spacious enough compared to the Japanese standards. Courteous staff, easy accessibility to Kyoto train station for food and shopping. We will definitely stay here again next time

We have stayed at this hotel twice over the past seven years. One of its greatest strengths is the spaciousness of the rooms, which makes for a very comfortable and restful night's sleep. On this recent visit, we felt that the breakfast offering was not quite at the same level as we remembered from our previous stay. However, this may simply reflect higher expectations on our part this time around. The staff remain friendly and helpful, which adds a lot to the overall experience. All in all, we would still recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to the city.

I wish I could give this hotel a better review. However, a lot of the amenities that I am used to that are included in the hotel price were not available, such as the pool and gym area. We had to pay extra to use them, not included like those in the states! Also, the elevator was stuffy all hrs of the day. The staff was extremely cordial and professional. There are no microwaves in the room or the hotel in general, which I found kinda odd, but there was an ice machine and a filtered water refilling machine. Many shops and restaurants are inside but very expensive. Not, too far from the train station and mall and other more affordable restaurants. We had a two bed room as well. The hotel it's self was very elegant looking inside.
