We stayed in the updated Ipanema Tower. The room itself was nice. I'm giving it a lower rating because it doesn't have a desk. I don't understand why hotels are doing away with this. Especially for those of us who are traveling and actually need a desk to work at. The hotel overall was clean. There was an issue with the ice machine and they just kept blowing this fan in the hall, and then would sprinkle this horrible smelling carpet freshener. We were there for an extended period for a conference. It wasn't the end of the world but just kind of gross to walk by and have to smell that everyday. Unfortunately the service at some of the bars was really poor. I don't blame the hotel necessarily for that. It definitely has been upgraded since the last time I had visited. So many competitors definitely shop around and maybe pay a little bit more for something nicer.

Super friendly staff makes it worth coming back. A great operations manager would do wonders for this place. Great food court hampered by too few order kiosks. Only 1 of 4 working elevators when we arrived and those were in rough shape. Shower in room backs up and 4 calls over two days to their awesome AI which answers the phone never got it fixed. Very few food options for lunch. Prices are much better than the strip hotels for rooms, food and beverage. $57 resort fee is ridiculous but parking is free. Great table limits and fantastic video poker pay tables.

I would say it is nicer than other hotel I stayed at. The hotel is really outdated. The room is really spacious. For my room: The bathroom is really small. The shower doesn't drain properly, it would fill up too fast so I would have to wait a couple minutes to drain. One of the sink have really low pressure water but the shower pressure is great. Everything else is great. Picture of hotel pool included.
