Riu Guanacaste All Inclusive

Less than an hour from the Liberia airport. It had plenty of food options and activities. It was easily accessible to the beach. The area of the ocean is very warm and swimmable (not rocky and no seaweed). There were multiple pools and didn’t have any issues getting chairs. There is a separate area with water slides. It does have a more loud vibe. Rooms were clean though a bit dated. It worked great for a family trip of 14 people with ages from 8 to 70. Daisy at the front desk was very helpful and patient with working with a big group.

We recently stayed at The Hotel Riu Guanacaste in Costa Rica for our honeymoon, and it was an incredible experience! The all-inclusive nature made everything so easy, and there was always something to do. The variety of food was excellent, catering to all tastes, and there was never a shortage of options. The grounds are beautiful and meticulously maintained, with lush gardens and multiple pools. Being right on the beach made it perfect for relaxing days by the water. The staff were friendly and engaging, creating fun moments throughout our stay. We loved the daily activities and events, especially the weekly white party—they really go all out to make it special! We had an amazing experience scuba diving with the resort’s team, and planning excursions was easy and seamless. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and stocked with a complimentary mini-bar. The spa was beautiful and relaxing—a perfect spot to unwind. Overall, this resort is a great value for the price. Whether you're looking to relax, explore, or have fun, this resort offers it all. We highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Costa Rica!

We stayed in the new portion of Guanacaste. It's great. Food is better than previous RIU we stayed at but still not your five star food. We enjoyed the musicians they had playing during dinner. I think the entertainment at night needs to be geared towards adults as the kids are tired and in bed by then. The sports bar could use more pool tables, which I hope they incorporate during the remodel. The road into the resort is pretty rough. The resort is in a remote location and hour plus drives to excursions is pretty standard. Staff were friendly. Monkey Bar is fun and the massages on the beach are also quite nice.
