I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to Mr Ebrahim at reception for his exceptionally warm welcome and professional service during my stay at Riva Hotel Den Haag – Delft. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel truly valued and taken care of. His friendly demeanor and helpful attitude made check‑in smooth and enjoyable. Mr Ebrahim went above and beyond to assist with my questions, and his genuine hospitality enhanced my stay. Many thanks — his service truly made a difference!
We stayed in Riva Hotel 2 nights in a standard double room. The room had a comfortable and clean bed with night lamps and bedside tables, a coffee table with coffee pad machine and a kettle. Quite crammed all together with little space between the furniture pieces. Overall nicely decorated room in a modern style, complementary coffee and tea utensils were very useful for us, as we took extensive city walks and a cup of hot tea along the way did cheer you up on a chilly day. The bathroom was also nice and clean, no funny smells. Negative: The sewage in the shower was definitely clogged, as after just a short time you would stand in a puddle of water while taking a shower, as the water did not run down fast enough. After a couple of minutes the water in the puddle will become cold, so when you’ve finished the shower, you had to stand in a cold puddle of water before getting out, which was uncomfortable. Plenty of parking lots are available directly at the hotel, even a couple of e-charging parking spots. E-chargers didn’t work for us, as they were from the local provider, who didn’t support instant payment option. It may be hard to find a parking in the evening on a weekend, as there seems to be many visitors to the hotel’s restaurant and casino. The hotel is located outside the Hague, right next to another beautiful small city of Delft. You need to drive to the Hague or take public transport option, as parking fees in the city centre vary between 15 Euro per day up to 6 Euro per hour (April 2025). If you travel by an electric car, you may find some free parking spots for charging not very far from the city center (20 minutes walk to the Mauritshuis) with an affordable electricity price for charging. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel and would probably come again, should we ever visit the Hague again.
I had a bad experience during my stay. Female staff/check in reception didn't do anything to tackle the ableism that's been directed at me from other customers. As a disabled person, I was getting harassed by these people. I'm beginning to think the staff who work there are ableist themselves. I left a sign at my door and the cleaning lady still went into my room even when I was sleeping, it also happened while I was away. I've been to several hotels, never had an experience worse than this. An invasion of privacy, if I knew this was gonna happen. I would've booked elsewhere. Not worth the money. 3/10
