Our stay at River Birches was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted at our car with the warmest hospitality from Jason and Rebecca, the owners, that made us feel truly valued and at home. The level of service here is exceptional-attentive without being intrusive, thoughtful in every detail, and genuinely caring. The property itself is absolutely stunning-peaceful, beautifully maintained, and perfectly situated within walking distance to the river. The rooms are are immaculate and elegantly designed, with a perfect blend of comfort, style and privacy. From the plush bedding to the high-end amenities (heated bathroom floors, bath salts for the oversized tub and a heated towel rack), no detail was overlooked. What truly sets River Birches apart, is the people. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, offering local recommendations, personalized touches, and a level of care that's rare to find. They gave us waders for fishing, provided excellent homemade breakfast every morning and made dinner reservations for us out of generosity. If you're looking for a five-star experience that combines the beauty of nature with refined luxury and world-class service, River Birches is it. We cannot wait to return!!! Thank you Jason and Rebecca for welcoming us!

I don’t leave a lot of reviews, but this one was so exceptional that I had to! This is the place to stay as HQ for doing the crossing. Great river and hike a block away. You can arrange for drop off and pick up for the crossing which you should definitely do. Great rations for breakfast, coffee, snacks and lunch for crossing were all top notch. Everything has been thought about! It was just my wife and I in the cottage, but had three bedrooms and could be great for a group! I can’t recommend this place enough. Japanese hot soaking tub was a life saver after the crossing!

We stayed here and although it is a lovely place, beautifully decorated lounge and common area, the bedroom was small and quite dark. The furniture on the decking wasn’t that comfortable to sit for any length of time, and we had an issue with our hot tub in that it was far too hot, and when we mentioned this I’m not sure they believed us, although they did say they would look at it. Also it was a tight squeeze for 2 people of average size. The bed itself was comfortable for a good nights sleep. The hosts were both friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well prepared and tasty. We wouldn’t stay there again as we felt that it was also quite expensive. The fridge in the room was stocked with all chargeable drinks and nothing was complimentary only the milk/tea/coffee, not even any little treats, which we had in many other places that had actually cost a lot less and more luxurious. A little disappointed.☹️
