River Place Manor

Room: This was my fourth stay at the place which is spotlessly clean. My previous stay was in Suite B and it has since been my room of choice. The bed is comfortable with an electric blanket for those chilly nights. Room has uninterrupted views of the Orange river, gardens and pool from the bed and Balcony. Table and 2 chairs on the balcony for sitting outside. Despite being full the manor is always peaceful/tranquil/quiet with the occasional sound of the birds chirping outside. There are good quality robes in the wardrobe, an iron and ironing board, an extra pillow, and blanket. Fridge has an Honesty Bar with selection of reasonably priced drinks. Complimentary sherry and 2x bottled waters were provided. There is a TV that is however not a smart TV. Air conditioner was effective in keeping the room warm. There were blackout curtains on doors leading to balcony. There is a kettle, small fridge, microwave, cutlery/crockery, wine glasses and highball glasses, tin opener and corkscrew. in the cupboard. Increasingly desirable is good access to device charging facilities but there are no foreign adapters (if you are an international traveller, you need to bring own adapter). --------- Bathroom The bathroom has a bathtub and sizeable shower with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel. The bathtub is nice and deep and has an over-bath caddy with tealight candles (but there was no lighter). The towels a fluffy and white. I wish there was a hook to hang the bathrobe. The quality of the toilet paper and tissues could be better. ----------- Restaurant and staff All staff I interacted is always friendly, helpful and very professional but I need to give a special mention to Morne’ and Courtney! Their service is exceptional they know how to make a guest feel special. Reception, Restaurant and accommodation all in close proximity. Restaurant serves delicious evening meal and breakfast. I always enjoy the breakfast and once again, the professional service. They remembered that I was lactose intolerant and had almond milk for me. --------- Access to the property Intercom controlled access gate and then about 500m scenic drive through to the reception and accommodation. Gate opens automatically for exit. A remote is provided with the room key for re-entry. The manor is very safe with a night watchman.

I'm not surprised by the 5-star rating – from check-in to the security team, the staff were incredibly friendly! The rooms were spotless and cozy, and the restaurant served delicious meals. What a fantastic stay!
