Riverside Lodge Hotel

Very nice lobby and bar area. Breakfast was pretty good. I was disappointed in the room a bit, stains on the carpet, and the bathroom wasn't very clean. Not a bad stay, but the lobby made a better impression than the rooms did. The staff was super friendly and welcoming

Bit of an old person coach trip stop type of hotel. Room amenities are dated and cheap & cheerful, but you can see there is some attempt at modernising the decor throughout. Drinks from the bar were quite expensive but its a captive audience since there's not much else nearby without a short taxi ride or 45min walk into the the town centre. Breakfast was a mixed experience, nice selection of cereals and pastries, excellent bacon, really liked the potato cakes, however by far the worst sloppy scrambled egg I've ever had in my life. Excellent parking. I think it probably does well for weddings and large events. Although I wouldn't personally choose to stay here again, I wouldn't be mad if I had no other choice, there wasn't anything particularly bad about my stay.

Plenty of rooms, some in better condition to others. Mine had a large stain on the carpet. The bed had obviously been changed to a much smaller one & left the larger headboard in place. Room service did come daily which l was surprised but appreciated. The waitress Maisie was a shining star & looked after us with great attention, she deserved a star just for her
