We recently visited Riverside Oaks Golf Resort in Cattai for my child’s selective school exam, and the experience far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we entered the grounds, we were taken in by the natural beauty of the location. The scenic drive to the resort itself was a treat—lush greenery, open skies, and a sense of calm that made the journey just as enjoyable as the destination. The venue is absolutely stunning and steeped in a sense of history and elegance. Nestled along the Hawkesbury River and surrounded by pristine bushland, it feels like a hidden gem tucked away from the busyness of everyday life. The architecture and layout of the resort blend seamlessly into the landscape, giving it both charm and serenity. The staff were friendly and professional, and the facilities were top-notch. While we were there for an academic purpose, we couldn’t help but be impressed by how well the space is designed for relaxation and leisure as well. The food was another highlight—delicious, beautifully presented, and made with fresh local ingredients. It was far more than we expected from a golf resort. Riverside Oaks is not just a golf destination; it’s a full experience. We’d love to be back!
Beautiful setting and great get away location whether you play golf or not. The staff are super helpful and I must say Peter was so helpful and friendly in particular and the buggy tour of the course was a real highlight. Only downside was dinner. The restaurant was closed in the evening and limited options locally. All in all though a really nice place to spend a few days relaxing.
Real shame about what could’ve been with this place. I have tried to support the club over many years but they just disappoint at every turn. Firstly the staff are nice which is appreciated, but management clearly have their heads in the sand. The greens are an absolute disgrace, running at extremely slow speeds, which makes sinking just one of your many birdie chances very difficult unless you stick it real tight. Charging $125 a round is just rude for a course in such poor condition. My partner and I stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights and they neglected to tell us that their restaurant would be closed during our stay. We were forced to get a taxi all the way to Windsor and back just to get dinner. That cost almost as much as our stay in the hotel and the staff were unapologetic, basically saying it was our fault for not checking the shotty website?? We travel a fair bit, including golf resorts, and this place ranks very low in Australia with service, professionalism and facilities. It felt like I was back at a school camp with the bare essentials. I would love to see this place do better. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way as I’ve seen countless discussions from ex-members online about how they’ve also moved on. When they can get their act together with the green speeds and actually get Bungool open, I would consider coming back here on a regular basis. The two courses are very well designed, especially Bungool. I really hope they put someone with a brain in charge that can get the place up to scratch. Customers are the ones that bring money that puts food on your table, don’t forget it. I’ve waited years to see improvements and have only seen it get worse. Do better please.
