Riverside Royal Hotel & Spa

What a great place to stay in Berlin! Amazing location (probably even the best). The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was just incredible and very spacious. If you're going to stay there make sure to have breakfast at their restaurant as it's very tasty, very good value and most importantly has the best view.

The room was fine if a little tired and dark. The bathroom was spacious. The bed was comfy. But the hallway was very dark and cramped with exposed wires and pipes and numerous stains on the carpet and our key was badly cut meaning we struggled to unlock the numerous doors required to get to the room.The good features of the hotel are its location which is very central and only a 3min walk to Friedrichstraße station which connects to the rest of Berlin. Perfect if you want a central hotel and aren't too fussed about where you are staying. We stayed in a non-balcony, non riverside view room so it may be that more effort into the decor of the hotel has been put into the fancier side. Overall a decent stay, but do not expect anything chic and perhaps slightly overpriced for what you get.

Since there were no parking spaces available onsite we were offered to park our car in a multistory parking lot at a location nearby for 10 EUR. It’s a walking distance from the hotel but might not be a good choice for someone traveling with a bigger baggage. The room was clean with a comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom (with both bathtub and shower). The standards are really basic and the interior decor remembers the early 90s. The location is great and is a walking distance from many of the historical sites. The staff was really friendly. You can get a good breakfast and a decent coffee in the Italofritzen restaurant. The hotel rooms are just on one floor in the building so you need to have your key ready all the time to open the stairway doors. The stairway and corridors are really long and dark so it takes time to get used to where your room is. There’s no air conditioning but the fan at the table was enough to cool the room so we could get a good night sleep. There’s also no refrigerator in the room.
