River Tree Villa & Resort is an absolute gem! Set in a beautiful and peaceful location, it’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. I stayed in the river view room, and it was truly stunning, waking up to the view of the river each morning was a dream. The rooms themselves are spacious, tastefully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The entire property has such thoughtful and beautiful decor, it really adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The staff were all so kind and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. A special shout-out to Meas, the manager, who personally greeted me when I arrived and made sure I had everything I needed throughout my stay. He even came to say goodbye when I left, which was such a thoughtful touch. I had an amazing experience and would absolutely come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with genuine hospitality!
My rating is based on when we were there, over Cambodian New Year, which is probably why we don’t rate it as high as others. Don’t get me wrong, it is a lovely hotel, but was lacking staff over this period which showed in quality of service. Our riverside room was lovely and the pool area was great to relax. Buffet Breakfast was good. We ate in the restaurant the first night and the food was ok, not amazing. Overall a solid 3.5 stars. The one thing that really upset me was the peacocks caged up. In this day and age there is no need to have this type of “attraction”. It would have been awesome to see these birds strutting in the garden, not in cages! The management need to understand this and change.
I'm sad to say that this was a very disappointing experience at Rivertree. I'm unsure how it gets such high reviews as was mediocre at best. When we stayed they were very understaffed and this showed. Dirty towels, plates and cups at the poolside, kept having to ask for these to be cleared and towels provided. Buffet breakfast only, which was sub-standard and no a la Carte option, despite this being advertised as an option. Massage was included, but I went to see and found an empty, dirty spa and no one in sight. The cleaner left dirty cups outside our room for 2 days and I had to ask for them to be collected as they were attracting ants. The staff did their best but it's very underwhelming. It feels like this place is riding off a previous better reputation but standards have slipped hugely and corners are being cut. Would not recommend or stay again. It's not worth the money.
