Riverwalk Plaza

This hotel is in an unbeatable location right on the River Walk—perfect for walking to restaurants, shops, and attractions. It’s an older property, but you’d hardly notice because it’s been so well maintained. The building has a lot of charm, and everything was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and inviting. If you’re looking for a convenient, centrally located place that still feels special, this is a great choice specially with family and kids. I would definitely stay here again!

Hotel was a little outdated but the location and price were great. It’s right on the riverwalk with mandatory valet. Had several issues while there. Four of us were staying in the room but they only gave us 2 washcloths and there was some mold on ceiling in the bathroom. They have room thermostats locked at 68 degrees at night and it took almost all day with 99 degree weather to get it down to that and was still hot. The other issue was with the valet. We left a bunch of charge in the car drink holder with a bottle of hand sanitizer covering it. On the last day, the valet brought our car up and a few pennies were scattered on the passenger seat, all the drink holders were rearranged, and all the other change was gone. We spoke to the hotel staff and they said the valet was a separate company and gave the valet manager our cell phone number to call us. It’s been 2 days and still no call back. Also the rooms look nothing like the pictures on the website.

Pros: the staff and valet attendance were very nice and helpful. The coffee and restaurant were good. Cons: the place is dirty. The elevator appears as if it has not been cleaned in a decade. The gym is located in the scary basement which is filthy with dead bugs on the floor and a film of slime covering the equipment. The treadmill was broke and the main weight machine was broke. There was no air conditioning or air circulation in the gym. My bathtub backed up onto my legs when I showered the drain was clogged and backed up. I had to keep air condition at 70 or below to keep the room from smelling like a rotten eggs. The internet did not work and when I called to get instructions the person was not able to help me connect. The vacuum was loud in the hallway at 8pm every evening I stayed. The pool was disgusting it was super cloudy could not see into the bottom. There was something sharp on the bottom of pool. I had to keep reminding kids to stay away from that area. There were no towels. There are two vending machines in the building that is it. The side door by the coffee shop is not secure or locked at all times when they are closed. I stayed 4 nights and paid as much as I would have at a nice clean fancy place. I was disappointed. Will not be returning next year.
