This was a fantastic hotel for our stay in Florence! The rooms are absolutely amazing and the location is perfect. Close to the center of the city but not too much so that it’s loud. They have ice cold water in the lobby, which is a blessing in Italy in the summer, and their patio garden is beautiful. They also were so sweet and surprised us with a bottle of champagne and cookies for our honeymoon! I definitely recommend staying here!
We stayed as part of a group. The room we received was the SMALLEST room of the group. We were told that since it is a old building that has been converted into a Hotel that all the rooms were different. They offered us 2 other rooms that were only slightly larger. I understand the "European Standard" but the bedroom and bathroom were uncomfortably SMALL. No view. I would book elsewhere for my next trip to Florence.
I have never been treated so rudely at a hotel. Several members of the front desk staff were incredibly disrespectful — not just to me, but to anyone whose first language wasn’t Italian. They make you feel stupid for asking basic questions. I witnessed them repeatedly ending poor explanations with a sarcastic “if you don’t understand” and a shrug, showing no real intention to help. That is not hospitality — especially not in a boutique hotel that prides itself on recognition and awards. It’s truly a shame, because the hotel itself is beautiful, but the service seriously detracts from the experience. I understand they deal with many tourists, but that should be even more reason to show empathy and kindness, not irritation. As a traveler, I was simply looking for guidance and a bit of courtesy — not to be made to feel small for needing help.
