Rocky Mountain Chalets Ohakune

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing winter getaway for families! We had a fantastic weekend at Rocky Mountain Chalets in July 2025 with our two kids. The chalet was warm, spacious, super clean, and had everything we needed — full kitchen, comfy beds, great heating, and fast Wi-Fi. The location is perfect — close to town and great for exploring Mt Ruapehu. The kids loved the Carrot Adventure Park nearby, and the hot tubs were a hit after snowy adventures. Bonus surprise: I managed to capture stunning photos of the Milky Way right from our chalet — no need to even leave the complex! Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back!

Super cozy chalets located ~10 minutes walk from the center of Ohakune. Two separate bedrooms and a large living room provides a great setting for down-time if you need a break from exploring the gorgeous surroundings. The chalet has a functional kitchen, but Ohakune has an excellent selection of restaurants for people who - like us - are too lazy to cook. We can especially recommend the Mountain Rocks café for breakfast. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived, and given great recommendations of which walks best fit our desires for waterfalls and general fitness. All in all, a terrific experience, and we'll definitely be back!

Excellently positioned, clean, quiet chalet style cabins. Friendly staff, highly recommend. We had a fabulous night, comfortable beds in good sized rooms. Close proximity to Ohakune and all amenities.
