Romantik Hotel Landhaus Biewald

Extremely professional and nice personnel lovely rooms and not too bad a drive from the highway. There is a train track within close distance which did wake us a couple of times but might not wake everyone. Breakfast buffet is plenty varied and dinner was delicious

Overall - just great. Very nice place, and we will certainly be back. If for nothing else, we need to try the Geniesser Stube! Great staff - evening and morning alike. However, on our day the very skilled and underplayed receptionist-come-waiter was overly challenged by the unexpected (?) number of guests (and perhaps even more the kitchen). Resulting in a fairly slow service in the restaurant, despite the skilled and attentive service of the low-key waiter. Great scenery, buildings and grounds are great, and the room in the new building was very spacy and modern - almost a slight letdown when considering the "historic" scenery of the rest of the facilities ;) Good and plentyfull dinner. Breakfast was very good with a good variety and much above average cheese selection; but still - EUR 19 pp? Normally, we always enjoy breakfast at the hotel of the night when travelling. But for once, we might opt out when staying here next time on a stopover on our way home. This could well be our new go-to stay-over, when travelling up back north from Italy and France.

One can drive over there just for the restaurant, which is very good, in comparison with the other standard german restaurants. I mean the hotel restaurant, not the one star Michelin, located in the same place and closed on Sundays ( when I was there ). The room was suffocated by a lot of furniture, no air conditioning, balcony with no privacy, we found no bicycles available ( e-bike at 35 euro per person ) and the place is deep in the country. The staff was friendly and caring, but we paid too much for the room, which I found under the usual 4 stars hotel
