Great hotel. Location is perfect. Walkable, cool view of the park. Very pretty inside and classy. Concierge and front desk went above and beyond to ensure an item was returned to me in the US after I left in hotel room in Rome. Thank you Max!
At the end of our 14 day trip throughout Italy, we stayed at the Rome Marriott Grand Flora Hotel for our last night in Rome prior to a flight the next day. Unfortunately, leading up to our stay we faced a lot of traffic and then a significantly long train delay on our trip to Sorrento to Rome. We had hoped to have more time to enjoy the hotel, but ultimately did not check-in until nearly 10PM. We had also had a very unfortunate experience of being scammed by a taxi just prior to our arrival. Upon checking in we were incredibly exhausted, but were SO lucky to be greeted by Hannah at the front desk who offered empathy and understanding, and informed us that as platinum members our room had been upgraded to a lovely suite. Additionally, we were informed that breakfast would be included which was a pleasant surprise! Having traveled all day we were seeking something to eat, which isn’t always easy at that hour on a Sunday. Hannah informed us that the rooftop was still serving food, so we were glad to have a pleasant late night meal there which was fresh and delicious! The room we were assigned to was very clean. Although the hotel itself seems to be historic, that did not bother us as everything in the room was clean and to our standards. We had a very comfortable night’s sleep - with the sheets and mattress both being great. In the morning we had a chance to work out in the fitness center briefly. The fitness center is small and could use some updates, but overall that did not detract from our stay. Finally, breakfast on the rooftop was delicious! We couldn’t spend too long since we were heading to a flight, but we were able to enjoy breakfast with the limited time we had. I should also mention that the staff was so punctual in ensuring our taxi arrived on time! We wish our stay had been longer! We will certainly be back in the future. Thanks again to Hannah and the team!
Overall, our stay at Rome Marriott GrandHotel Flora was great. The check-in process was smooth and easy. The hotel has an older, classic style, which I truly appreciate as part of Rome’s charm — the historical architecture and design are beautiful, and I understand renovations are limited due to preservation. Inside, everything was well-maintained and clean. At check-in, we asked if currency exchange was available at the front desk. The staff member explained they didn’t have exact euros, which I understand, but she suggested going to any nearby bank to exchange money. In reality, it’s not that simple — we ended up finding an exchange place on our own. If the staff doesn’t know the exact location, simply suggesting we Google it would be more helpful. One highlight was the rooftop restaurant, which has an absolutely amazing view and a modern yet classic décor. Dining there felt special and added to the charm of our stay. The only other small note: the entire hotel had a baby powder scent. While pleasant, I personally wish they used Marriott’s signature scent, which always feels fresh and welcoming. Still, the location, service, and rooftop experience make it a wonderful place to stay in Rome.
