We stayed one night. The car park is free, check in was quick and the staff was very friendly and nice. The room we got was overlooking the fjord. It was nice size and the bed was very comfortable. We also had a little balcony. The shower had good pressure and hot water quickly. They have a restaurant on site serving food all day, we had breakfast (included) and dinner (paid) and both were very good. There is some renovation going on to improve the place and it did not bother us at all. Would stay again any time, it was awesome!

We stayed here for two nights and chose their most affordable room option. The room didn’t have a balcony and felt quite dark once the sun went down, with limited natural light coming through the main glass panel — which also offered little privacy as it faced a shared area. Amenities were basic, to say the least. Upon arrival, we were surprised by the lack of hospitality at the front desk. The receptionist seemed unprepared to check us in. There was no welcome greeting, no explanation about breakfast, or directions to our room — we had to ask everything ourselves. Her reaction to our questions was odd and made us feel unwelcome. It was far from the professional service you’d expect from hotel staff. What truly saved our experience, however, was the restaurant. The waiters were friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food was genuinely good — possibly the best in Rosendal — and the wine, though limited by the glass, paired nicely with our meal. We appreciated the simplicity of having one dinner menu and enjoyed everything we tried. The restaurant’s setting is another highlight — overlooking the water with a stunning, peaceful view. Visiting in mid-May, we felt a sense of exclusivity and calm that made dinner feel like a special occasion. Overall, we’d rate the stay 3.5 stars. The front desk service and room fell short, but the restaurant, staff, and beautiful views made up for it.
