I stayed at the Rosewood Baha Mar last week and was incredibly impressed throughout my visit. The staff was attentive, and made every interaction feel personal. My ocean view suite was absolutely stunning, and had breathtaking views with a luxurious comfort feel that had a home like feeling. I especially loved the pool area which was the perfect place to unwind and relax in peace. The full Baha Mar complex offered endless activities, dining, and energy, but it was nice to return to the quiet, exclusive feel of the Rosewood side. Overall, this was a truly memorable experience that I can’t wait to return again to. Highly recommend checking out the spa as well!
This was our second time staying at the sprawling Baha Mar complex this year. Our previous stay was at the Grand Hyatt. We had a mixed review of our stay there but loved the activities at Baha Mar and decided to see if Rosewood would enhance our experience. Unfortunately I would say despite being almost double or even triple the cost I would say our stay was not much better. The good: the grounds are beautiful. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable. The privacy of the pools and beach make it much easier to enjoy although with little kids we didn’t get to enjoy this much due to the fact that our littles preferred to stay nonstop at the water park. The bad: Service left a lot to be desired. Our room was not serviced the first day. Not a big deal, all we needed was just some fresh towels. I called the front desk for help with a response, waited about thirty minutes without anything. Walked to the front desk with dirty towels hoping to exchange them and was told they were working on it and asked me ti return to the room. Okay, sure. Went back to the room and my wife decided to call laundry and we finally got our towels an hour later. Honestly it would have been easier to just have walked me to a service room to get those towels and I would have been okay with this but the front desk was not helpful. Service at the pool was a bit mixed as well. We were able to get covers for our chairs but then the attendant again forgot to bring us towels. I ended up taking some from the cabanas. It seems most individuals working here seem to be bothered by providing help or assistance. Based on this experience I would suggest not spending the amount of money to stay here.
Rooms are very clean with outstanding design and really comfortable beds. You can dim the light to multiple settings from your bed. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The room service is attentive, yet the minibar is very expensive. $31 for some m&ms 🙄 The whole place was incredibly beautiful, sadly they didn't inform us there would be construction work going on. We woke up to loud noises from right beneath our room and you could hear them all over the place. Staying on the balcony during work hours was impossible. The pool area was nice, sunbeds were comfortable and they had buttons to call for service, which was pretty neat. Prices for restaurants were outrages, we paid 180 for some tortillas with guacamole, a Cesar salad and tacos with chicken. That would be okay if the dressing wasnt just plain yogurt and the chicken was absolutely dry on both dishes. Personally I wouldn't have served that at home. The guacamole was good though, reminded us of the one we had in Mexico. We had to wait ages to get seated at Breakfast, even though they had plenty of free tables, but we guess there were not enough waiters. When we finally got seated, the waitress rolled her eyes right in front of us. The food there was abysmal. Tasteless pancakes, brown bananas and the cappuccino was sour. At least the buffalo wings we had at the pool were good. Over all the food was just way too expensive for the quality they delivered. Don't get me wrong, we were well aware the Bahamas are very expensive, but we has amazing food at different restaurants on the island which were also less expensive with better service. Service was attentive, at least cleaning personnel, who always had a smile on their lips and did a great job to make us feel welcomed, so were the guys at the pool. Besides that a lot of their staff seemed bothered by our presence, which shouldn't be the case at a hotel where you spend over 1k a night for just the room. When we arrived the concierge said he would be there for us any time, we have not seen him during our 5 nights. The water park was fun, we enjoyed the rides a lot. Live music at their bar was absolutely awesome, the singer they hired was top notch. Cocktails were really good aswell. The treatments at the spa were great, but even though we arrived 20 minutes early, we were picked up from relaxation area 10 minutes after our appointment, so we only got about 45 minutes. The wifi at our balcony was so bad, that my wifes iPhone didn't get a connection at all. I'm sad to say but we probably won't return to the complex, as the other two hotels looked worse and shared pretty much all facilities except for the pool. Overall we had a pleasent stay, just not as good as we imagined. Compared to a shangri-la or four seasons, it definitely has plenty of room for improvement.
