Superb accommodations and service. Comfortable, beautiful hotel. Impressed with the hotel cars to transport guests within a 3 mile radius. The cars were beautiful, clean and the drivers friendly. The car service took me to a local hike, Picacho Peak, and picked me up afterward. I loved the walkability of the hotel. A lot of things to do nearby. I could open my window and hear music in the plaza. Everything was top notch.
I am here today to give Chef Cristian Pontiggia his flowers. I just had the best meal of my life. I ordered the seabass and my friends got the lamb and the steak. All three meals were incredible from top to bottom. The sauces paired incredibly with the main entree and their sides. The risotto was out of this world, the prosciutto wrapped asparagus was cooked to perfection. Don’t miss the mushroom cappuccino (I hate mushrooms and that thing blew my mind. We had the creme brûlée and deconstructed s’mores for dessert and both were absolutely divine. Thankyou Chef we will be back.
This is not a 5-star "resort". The $50/day resort fee is comical. They have no spa, no pool, rooms are average (no soft close drawers or toilets), no water closet, no steamer, bar closes early. Check-in was uninformative, we were not told the snacks and drinks in our room were all complimentary. We had a $60/day breakfast credit through Amex and a $100 credit for the stay and they would not apply to most charges. Coffee is $7 pp at breakfast, but if you grab a cup from the lobby 10 feet away it is free (and it's the same pitchers they refill up front) Servers were friendly and so was housekeeping. If you want a 5-star hotel, this is not it. More of a 4-star hotel, not resort.
