We came up from Glasgow for a wee getaway before our honeymoon. Fantastic little hidden hotel in a peaceful location. Food was amazing, and the staff were just fantastic. Most notable of which was a young lassie called Natasha. I think she had just started working there? She was professional, great at her job, so friendly and just a lovely wee soul. You should be so proud of her, and she is an absolute credit to your hotel team. 🩷 Donnie and Mwaba Mackenzie. 💚
My first visit to Scotland, the area is very picturesque. The hotel itself is located in a quiet place. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty, the room is large and quite ok, however, for a 4-star hotel, the cleaning service leaves much to be desired (dust on some furniture, unfilled containers in the bathroom, mold on the joints, unwashed shower glass and a broken hanger), which lowers my rating.
When we arrived we found that the TV didn't work and notified front desk. They didn't get back to us until the night before we were leaving. (4days) to replace it. There was mould all over the grout in the shower and when we informed them we were told it was "not live". I showed all the images to front desk. A diesel bus ran/idled outside our window for 30 minutes forcing us, in 28c weather, to close all windows so we didn't choke from diesel fumes. When we notified staff they just said... The bus can't go anywhere else. There was dog biscuits on the floor of the room. It has obviously not been vacuumed. We paid for a king bed upgrade and the room had a double bed. They did accept responsibility for this and reimbursed us. The overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Overall it was a complete disappointment and even if it was 1 or 2 things we would have been fine but the diesel bus fumes and mould were the worst and just left us with the worst experience we've had while traveling. All that being said. Helensburgh was beautiful.
