Royal Airport Hotel

Beautiful rooms and comfortable beds and pillows. Right next to the airport, a 5 minute drive. Just a heads up, it is about 30-50 minutes away from the Zagreb center depending on traffic. Perfect for flying out of the airport though. The restaurant is rated highly as well, although we did not eat there. Breakfast was included and it was well stocked.

Close to the airport. Nothing else in the area in terms of things to do or places to eat and no public transport. The rooms did not have coffee. Free breakfast included. There is a glitch on Google maps which makes you do an extra circuit in and out of the hotel. There is a quick and easy access if you can find it.

I can’t understand how a hotel can get 4 stars when I can’t even get a cup of coffee or a glass of water outside of reception hours. The room is new and modern, but I had a terrible night’s sleep because I couldn’t get a glass of water. The only option was tap water, which smelled like chlorine. I’m staying at a so-called 4-star hotel, Hotel Royal, near Zagreb Airport, but there’s nothing royal about it. I don’t care about the many amenities in the room; they don’t quench my thirst. There’s a refrigerator that hums loudly all night, but it’s empty. How can they get a 4-star rating with such poor basic service? I just don’t get it. I’m extremely thirsty, and it’s only 5 am, so I’m forced to drink some chlorinated tap water. --
