We had a great stay at this hotel. The view during breakfast was amazing, and the buffet offered a wide variety of delicious food, especially the pastries. The service was very good. The staff were welcoming and respectful, and always attentive to our needs. A big thank you to Sonia Marches and Maria F. who were particularly kind and helpful. The room was very clean, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and we had an incredible view of the sea, definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Just one point to mention: the pool was quite small compared to other 4 star hotels, and we couldn’t access it without a reservation. I understand this is due to the limited space, and the 2-hour limit made sense, but it was still a bit disappointing. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would recommend the hotel !
The royal continental, a hotel I thought I wouldn’t like at first but that changed quickly. The breakfast was so nice as well as their location, the beach, the castle, the nearby shops, the gelato, all a 10/10. My only concern was them not having an iron, we requested it but to my surprise they said that they didn’t own any except one which is used for room service and extra charge. Other than that the hotel is perfect, Update review, While I was surprised to find that ironing machines were not available, I later learned that this was due to a past incident which led management to discontinue the service as a safety precaution. I appreciate their concern for guest well-being, and I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that this decision was made with the best intentions in mind.
Not Flexible at All, Disappointing Experience I never write negative reviews, but this hotel truly disappointed me. The main issue? A complete lack of flexibility. We asked to use the pool after check-out (something most hotels accommodate, especially when you’re a paying guest), and the staff flatly refused. No exceptions, and the alternative offered was a late checkout for a cost of at least 100 euro - just to use the pool for two hours. It really left a bad taste in our mouths, especially after spending a pretty decent amount on our stay. Hospitality should be about making guests feel welcome, not rushing them out the door the moment check-out hits. We had a late flight and thought we could relax for a bit before heading to the airport (like ANY hotel would offer in a heartbeat). Instead, we were told the amenities were off-limits unless we extended (and paid for) more time. There are plenty of hotels that understand basic guest courtesy, this isn’t one of them. Won’t be returning, and wouldn’t recommend unless you’re okay with rigid policies and zero accommodation.
