Royal Huahine

We stayed here for 10 days with young kids. We LOVE this place. The beauty of the island is incredible. We love that the only way to reach it us by boat, the boat trip is short to the supermarket and town. The bungalows are sweet - we stayed in a beach one which was wonderful. They even added extra beds for the kids. They cleaned every day. Every member if staff was welcoming. On our daughter’s birthday one host even brought some gifts for her. The water is beautiful to snorkel in. Kayaks are open and free to self-serve. The pool and gardens are lovely. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again, thank you ☺️

The rooms are large and spacious. The hotel is secluded and quite except for the birds. There is a free ferry boat to Fare town to go get food and explore. The hotel food is average. However we loved our stay and snorkeling.

We stayed here a few years ago for our honeymoon and it was so bad we actively tell people not to go here. There was no employees when we showed up so we couldn't get food. Then when we finally got food the next day the crew never came to clean up the plate causing an almighty fly infestation. On top of that the roofs leaked like a colander, many nights we didn't sleep as it was raining in/on our bed. So we'd spend our nights shifting the bed around the room looking for dry spots. When we asked the hotel staff they said "All of our room are like that." Add to the fact that someone who lives nearby doesn't want visitors and plays pop music so loud the entire hotel could hear it all day, everyday. Want to use the pool or kayaks? Nope no staff working on site to unlock anything. We stayed for a week and it was truly a terrible experience. I don't usually do this in reviews but I hope this will dissuade people from going here.
