Rooms are very our dated. Sheets had stan spots. We had a 3 single bed room which only had 2 actual beds and 1 small sofa that was not level. Our bathroom didn't have towels for 3. When we left for the day and came back the window was left open which let in mosquitos as they didn't have a netting in the window so had to spray the room with bug spray. Food at the restaurant was good and service there was great.
Stayed here one night with my birthright group but would’ve been better anywhere else. We waited over six hours for a room — after waiting two hours we were told our rooms were ready, and came to find them dirty, with unclean, smelly blood-stained sheets and used towels. Some of our group were given rooms that were already being occupied. Staff made us feel like we were asking for something on a silver platter when all we wanted was a clean space to sleep, they were beyond rude and unprofessional. One member of our group entered their “clean” room to discover four hotel staff laying in their bed smoking cigarettes. The staff acted as if this was no big deal and accused the people who witnessed this of lying. We finally were given “clean” rooms just after 3AM after a six hour wait in a disgusting lobby. These new rooms were dingy and while they finally had clean sheets after six whole hours, were still largely unclean. The doors don’t have locks so we couldn’t even have a peaceful night without fear of someone entering our room without our knowledge. One of our “mattresses” wasn’t even a bed, but couch cushions with a cheap, thin sheet laid overtop. Everything about this experience was horrifying and no one from the hotel seemed to care even a little. I’ve never experienced such substandard service at a hotel and cannot recommend staying literally anywhere but here enough.
My birthright group had reservations at this hotel. On our way there, at around 6:30, we find out the rooms are not ready yet (even though they had hours to prepare since check-out is at 11am.) We arrive at 8:30 and we still have to wait for our rooms to be ready. Two hours later, our rooms are available, but the bathroom is dirty and the sheets are unclean. The staff was rude to our trip leaders while they were sorting this out, even though we were asking for the bare minimum. They said multiple times that someone went up to clean the room, but each time someone from the group went up, they soon came back down and reported problems. People found bloody sheets, boogers, and rooms that had been already occupied and still contained other guests’ belongings. Not to mention a young girl on our trip walked into her “clean” room to find four EMPLOYEES hanging out on the bed and smoking in her room. We did not get a room until 2:30AM, and that was only after we had the CEO of the hotel, the birthright team, significant UJA donors, and Israel Outdoors on the phone forcing the staff to address the issue. All this craziness just to sleep in a tiny, old fashioned room with uncomfortable beds. I have traveled quite a bit and I have never seen this kind of unprofessionalism and lack of hospitality in my life. Seriously RUN from this place!!
