Royal Oak Ramsden

We stumbled over this place with a last minute booking. I would return in a flash. We stayed in one of the family rooms and it was amazing! The bunk beds were a big hit with my children! The staff were extremely friendly and food was incredible. I thought it was excellent value for money - especially as breakfast was included! If anyone wants a nice quaint cottage vibe style in a small village - this is it. I can’t wait to return - maybe next time at Christmas!

We had a lovely 1-night stay in the Stable room with our two kids. The pictures didn't do the room justice - it was almost a suite, just lacking a sitting area. The bunk beds are in a bedroom with a separating door and were a hit with the kids, giving them their own space and privacy and acting as individual forts! The bathroom is off a small hallway between the primary bedroom and the kids bedroom area. A lovely half bottle of wine was waiting upon check in. The beds were comfy with lots of pillows and cushions. We arrived slightly early so we grabbed a drink in the pub area, and found a good selection of board games to keep us entertained until check in. All the staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Dinner and breakfast were lovely. They didn't have a specific children's menu, but did have a selection of "simpler" meal offerings for less refined palates, when asked. The location was gorgeous - would definitely return for a longer stay in the future!

We stopped for one night in the family room at the Royal Oak - the room was charming, well kitted out and our daughters loved the huge built in bunk beds. Breakfast was delicious and the pub setting as a whole is just beautiful. As described in the booking the family room is right on the pub's courtyard - on a very hot night this was a tiny bit challenging with wanting to throw all the windows open, might be an idea to put some small fans in the bunk bed shelves just to circulate air.
