1st of all this is a very old hotel which was built back in 1942, surrounding very old palaces and temples. So everything over here is very old. Including rooms. Carpets not replaced for over 20+ years. Staff also consists of old ladies and gentleman. Front-desk staff and lady who is checking the breakfast tickets 🎫 not friendly at all. May be due to the level of customers they used to see everyday. You will see sainted tea cups and dishes and very old plates on breakfast table. Same thing for 3 days so far. Cannot complain about the food for the price we are paying. Cannot negotiate anything with front desk guys / girls (uncles and aunties). Make sure you have money in cash for deposit and they don’t accept cards for that. Room service aunties are really good as they are trying to keep everything tidy. 😊 I thought I will break something in the room as they are very old and my so managed to turn on the bathroom main bulb by hitting on the switch multiple times. I think switches and all appliances are more than 30++ years old but main door got RFID based motorized door lock.
The hotel staff are rude. Especially the old lady is very rude. I want everyone to be aware. I also found cockroaches in the room and I will post a picture the next day. I made many bookings for this hotel because I did not know the service of this hotel. I heard from the owner that it was not convenient. Now that the bookings made for August have been completed, I will not plan to stay at this hotel in the future. I think it is polite for Thai people to be rude to Thai people when they are working in a Thai hotel. Or are Thai people the ones who are rude? If the staff does not change, if the service does not change, this hotel will become a disposable hotel.
You get what you pay for I guess? Don’t let the pictures or “4-star hotel” fool you. This is a 2 star motel at BEST and that’s me being generous Pros: short walk to Khao San Road, Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. 2 bottles of water dropped off every day Cons: just about everything else. 1. The room was old, dusty, and outdated and had a musty carpet with a weird stain. There were stains on the wall and the wallpaper was peeling. 2. The wifi didn’t work, so I had to connect to another room’s wifi, which worked maybe 30% of the time. 3. The outlets near the bed didn’t work. 4. The fridge has definitely seen better years. It made a clanging noise every few minutes until I unplugged it. 5. The beds were uncomfortable and the springs dug into me every time I shifted. 6. The bathroom shower curtain should’ve been replaced years ago because why is it brown when it clearly started out translucent? 7. Soundproofing also isn’t good. You can hear everything in the hallway and conversations (at normal volume) in the rooms next door Conclusion: you quite literally couldn’t pay me to stay here again. If you hate your spine and consecutive hours of restful sleep, then this is right up your alley
